Clients sometimes underestimate the amount of time, effort, material, and energy samples really do take and sometimes they want multiple versions of a specific sample! In an effort to make this process more cost effective and more efficient, we lay all the ground-work for you. Exclusively at Faux Masters Studio, you can purchase pre-painted styrene boards with the basecoat already professionally applied. Raw Styrene Boards also available.

- Answer: Styrene is actually “polystyrene” and is a synthetic aromatic polymer made from the monomer styrene, a liquid petrochemical. Polystyrene can be rigid or foamed. It is a very inexpensive resin per unit weight and is an ideal substrate to create samples on due to its durability and cost-effective price-point. Polystyrene is one of the most widely used plastics, the scale of its production being several billion kilograms per year.

- Answer: A “mil” is a common term used when discussing thickness of a product. It actually is representing a thousandth of an inch — .001 inch. It is a typical manufacturing dimension.
