Layering Paint™ is a professional wood finishing product formulated for multiple uses. This unique product is similar to “chalk paint” and other removable materials which will allow you to blend and layer multiple passes of different colors together so you can achieve a one of a kind layered finish. This versatile material also provides other great benefits such as acting as a pre-stain wood sealer and is a perfect primer as it sands to a “like glass” smooth finishing surface. Layering Paint™ accepts stain when applied over the top; it does not repel it. It is the perfect base and finishing coat for painted color furniture and cabinet finishing and it is tint-able with FauxCrème Colors™.

Product Tips
- Layering Paint™ has multiple uses:

- Perfect as a base coat for faux wood finishing.
- Perfect for wood cabinet and furniture refinishing.
- Perfect material for spot repairing of damaged wood finishes.
- Mix thoroughly before each use.
- Always make a sample to ensure the desired result.
- Coverage varies according to application techniques
Basic Application
- Prepare the work surface by stripping back any existing coatings to raw wood.
- Sand the wood surface smooth with 220-grit sandpaper and remove all dust; apply clear seal coat and let dry (optional).
- Apply Layering Paint™ using a brush or staining pad applicator with smooth even 24″ strokes.
- Cover the entire work surface with Layering Paint™. Wait a few minutes and then wipe off any excess material.
- Let dry completely. In warm dry conditions roughly 30 minutes, in damp and cool conditions cure time may take as long as 4 hours.
- Several coats of Layering Paint™ may be applied to create very deep color finish. Layering different tinted colors of Layering Paint™ during the application process can customize the color.
- Since Layering Paint™ has reversible characteristics, it can be re-activated with water once it has dried. If “lap-lines” exist, reactivate Layering Paint™ with water and use cheesecloth to feather these spots to a smooth and even finish. Let dry.
- Once the surface is completely dry, lightly sand with 220 – 320 grit sandpaper, and then, apply a topcoat of AquaGard™ or other topcoat sealant.
